GLOBALHARMONY
Musical time travel with Carmina Viva
We are
all connected by our love of music and have the unique opportunity to
learn from one another's cultures, interests and ways of life. Each
month, PRELUDE will highlight a music enthusiast from around the world.

Meet Daniel Klinkenberg (Belgium)
Tell us about yourself.
I'm a 28
year old electrical engineer working for a company that specializes in
aviation. At the age of eight I started playing the piano and not long
after began to sing.
Tell us about your choir.
Carmina Viva is
a vocal ensemble from the German-speaking part of Belgium. We have
about 20 singers and have been a choir for more than a decade.
Following
the guiding principle "from the Renaissance to modern times," we offer
a varied repertoire from different stylistic eras. We perform classical
choral music to jazz and pop.
What do you most like about living in Belgium?
Belgium is a small country with cultural and linguistic diversity.
My favorite places to visit are the villages of Bruges and Ghent, the city of Brussels with its urban flair, the Belgian coast and the dreamlike nature of the High Fens and Ardennes.
What is your favorite type of music?
It depends. Vocal, instrumental, classic and pop ... Any type of music that matches my mood.
What is the last concert you went to?
I recently saw a local AC/DC cover band perform.
